Peter Nels Hasselbalch, November 4, 1960 to March 13, 2010. Peter loves Missy. Peter was a family man. He still loves and adores each of his children; his sons, Jordan and James, his daughters Zoe and Isabel and his "other son", Harper. Peter and Missy (Mary Melissa Kaylor Hasselbalch) recently celebrated their twenty-sixth wedding anniversary. Peter graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree. Photography was his passion. He won many awards including the Nikon International and a number of his photographs have been published, including one on the cover of Life Magazine. Peter was born and raised in Lincoln. He owned and operated Hasselbalch Imaging and Photography.

Peter is survived by his mother, Marilyn Campfield Hasselbalch and preceded in death by his father, Hal Hasselbalch. He is survived by his brothers, Kurt (Claire), Eric (Xiaogang); his sister, Ane Hasselbalch McBride (husband Mike); and beloved nephews, Paul, Andrew and Luke. He is survived by Missy's three sisters, Sharon Hyde, Renee Hamstra, and Rise Mitchell. Peter is also survived by "the cousins", Heather, Stephanie, Rise, Joseph, Rixi, Noah, Harold, Jess, Luke, Seth, Keith and their 16 babies, all of whom Peter loved, photographed and held in his arms. Peter is welcomed into the arms of his dad, Jamie, Keith, Bob and Mary, who are already in heaven with Jesus Christ.
